My work is rooted in Carl Jung's concept of the collective unconscious, which encompasses universal archetypes and symbols shared by humanity, passed down independently of individual experiences. I believe that images emerging from the unconscious can reveal hidden spiritual needs that connect us on a deeper, collective level. The creative process involves exploring moments when the unconscious surfaces into consciousness and then materializing them on canvas. A key element of my technique is the repetition of gestures, particularly the act of painting dots, which function like a mantra, leading me into a state of detachment from everyday reality. This technique is inspired by prayer traditions, where the repetition of gestures, sounds, or words allows for a deeper spiritual understanding.
Through meticulously crafted, monochromatic compositions, I aim to create a meditative space that encourages viewers to reflect on the universal need for spirituality. My paintings merge timeless artistic traditions with personal and collective subconscious imagery, raising questions about the role of art as a bridge between the inner world of the individual and the shared experiences of humanity.
