Vangel
Occurring somewhere between dreams, memory, and delusion, “Vangel” is a short film by the collaborative duo of Polish visual artist Agnieszka Rowińska and Filipino filmmaker Aaron Palabyab about remembering something from before your time, and attempting to understand the source and meaning of these shadows from the past. Taking place in the abandoned Bazen Saraj swimming pool in Skopje, Macedonia, a place of unsettling energy where the filmmakers even experienced a threat to their persons during production, the film uses present-day footage from the site alongside found personal footage from its heyday exactly 33 years ago.
